For most users, yum
is the easiest way to update Fedora Core systems. For details, please consult Managing Software with yum.
There are three categories of updates:
Security updates, bugfix updates, and new feature updates can be downloaded from:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/
In this directory, each release number has a directory. For example, for Fedora Core 4, there is a 4/ directory.
Annoucements about Fedora updates are sent to fedora-announce-list.
Proposed Fedora Updates may be placed in a directory for public testing. After they have been tested more throughly by the community, they will be releases as official Fedora Updates. Proposed updates can be downloaded from:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/testing/
Packages in this directory are untested and still under development. This is where updates for test releases will be found. Development packages can be downloaded from:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/
