Guidelines for a Good Description

(a) Focus your disclosure on those aspects of the invention that you believe are new.
(b) Limit the use of code in describing your invention! Instead, focus on describing the functionality and process flow
at a conceptual level rather than implementation at the code level.
(c) If possible, attach drawings, illustrations, and/or flow charts of the steps of your inventive method. These are
especially helpful in explaining your invention to others. Elaborate or formal drawings are not necessary.
(d) The more detail, the better, but please provide at least enough detail to explore the merits of filing a patent
application on the idea and to give outside counsel at least a basic understanding of the invention so that
they can effectively gather more details from you.
